Social Strategy Director 
We are seeking a visionary and strategic Social Strategy Director to lead the development and execution of breakthrough social media strategies for our diverse portfolio of clients. As a key member of the Exponent team, you will serve as the bridge between PR, account, creative, media, brand strategy, and analytics—bringing cultural insights, platform fluency, and business acumen to drive meaningful social engagement and measurable brand growth. 

Responsibilities

  • Own the operational buildout and ongoing optimization of social teams and workflows for new and existing accounts—including staffing, scoping, onboarding, and cross-functional integration across strategy, content, community management, and analytics.
  • Develop and maintain scalable systems, playbooks, and process frameworks that ensure consistent, high-quality social execution across teams, channels, and clients—balancing creativity with efficiency and accountability.
  • Lead resource planning, staffing, and workflow optimization across social and strategy teams.
  • Ensure cross-functional collaboration and communication between departments, vendors, and client partners.
  • Support budgeting, project scoping, and timeline development with a deep understanding of social team operations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase speed to market without sacrificing quality.
  • Build and maintain tools, systems, and processes that support scalable and efficient delivery of social and integrated work.
  • Lead the development of innovative, insight-driven social strategies across platforms for brand campaigns, product launches, and evergreen content.
  • Partner with PR, creative, media, strategy and account teams to ensure social activations and executions align with broader brand goals and strategy
  • Guide audience and cultural research to inform creative briefs, platform selection, and engagement tactics.
  • Stay ahead of emerging platforms, technologies, and trends, bringing a forward-thinking lens to client recommendations.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior strategists and community managers.
  • Partner with Influencer team to integrate content into broader social or campaign initiatives.
  • Drive campaign performance by monitoring analytics, setting KPIs, and optimizing strategy in real time. 
     

Required Skills

  • Deep fluency in major and emerging social media platforms, tools and products
  • Operational mindset with experience building and optimizing team processes and workflows
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client management skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Curious, collaborative, and proactive with a passion for creative and strategic thinking
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities to grow high-performing teams 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in digital marketing, social strategy, or creative operations—agency experience preferred
  • Proven track record of leading integrated campaigns across paid, owned, and earned channels
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams, vendors, or external partners
  • Strong understanding of brand, consumer behavior, and cultural insights 

 
At the time of posting, the base salary for this position ranges from $110,000 to $130,000. Compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health and wellness options, agency perks, and the flexibility of a hybrid work environment.
