10 Thousand Design is seeking a Design Director who creates outcomes, not just artifacts. Someone who pairs big-picture strategy with fearless design execution. Who sees design as a force multiplier—and knows how to wield it to drive change. Someone ready to shape what’s next, not simply respond to it. 

This is a design leadership role for a systems thinker with a bold point of view—someone fluent across physical, digital, and experiential channels. You understand how to harness emerging tools and technologies, including AI, to unlock new creative possibilities—and how to rally teams to build belief in every detail. 

• Lead the creative development of strategic brand systems and campaign expressions across multiple platforms
• Bring a strong POV to design conversations and storytelling to presentations, pushing creative boundaries while aligning with client objectives
• Lead, mentor, grow and inspire junior and senior designers, elevating their craft and storytelling abilities 
• Ensure design consistency and quality across all channels—digital, print, experiential, and emerging tech
• Advocate for the user experience and human-centered design throughout all work
• Stay current with design trends, emerging technologies, and cultural shifts
• Cultivate a collaborative, inclusive, and growth-oriented creative culture with cross-functional teams and stakeholders—leaving ego at the door
• Build and maintain strong relationships with high-profile clients and internal stakeholders
• Elevate the agency’s creative reputation through craft, innovation, and bold design thinking 

• A strategic mind, visual fluency, and the ability to distill complexity into systems and stories that connect
• A portfolio that demonstrates bold thinking, thoughtful execution, and scalable design
• Deep understanding of brand development, identity systems, and integrated campaign expression
• Strong verbal and written communication, with the ability to clearly articulate design decisions to internal teams and external partners
• A collaborative spirit, entrepreneurial drive, and commitment to growth—for yourself, your team, and the work 

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience 
• 10+ years of brand-building experience across a variety of mediums, with a proven track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, and motion design, with an openness to learning AI, 3D, and other emerging technologies
• Ability to travel as needed 

At the time of posting, the base salary for this position ranges from $110,000 to $140,000. Compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
